NEW HOKU ULA coming to KAMAKURA

#10 Thu, 01/25/2007 - 1:01pm
Yo, I've never tried one of these, but I think it's safe to say that nothing could be finer than a blue canoe made in Chiner... (I know it's spelled "China", but that didn't rhyme... Doi.)
So fresh and so clean, GOTO!

This brand-new design will land here next weekend.
I'll post some impressions on it then.
#12 Fri, 01/19/2007 - 5:33am
It was gusty and choppy day today.
But HOKU`ULA has easily got thru the shore breaks and mash.
Very confortable as the nose and tail are sleek enough, both not being lifeted too much by the swells.
Nice upwind performance for its lower deck profile and not affected by the facing wind. Of course it surfed well.
Never had to worry about loosing control in rough water. Direct steer feeling and quickly recovered to top speed after hit by a chop. Its small volume has something to do with this nice feature. Most other canoes are too large for paddlers around me.
Just the right size for my weight(65kg).
Metalic finish coat is so attractive.
Deck layout is totally different from other designs, just like the Italian cars.

Taiki, very nice posers in the Oc4, but you're supposed to find a wave first .... Full points for trying. Keep up the good work in Japan, you are good for the sport there.
