Building My First 4 Man

I recently obtained the use of a 4 man mold, to build my first fiberglass boat. Anyone have any tips for a first time builder?

here are a few questions to start things off?
-how many layers of glass do I need to make the hull? it needs to be strong, but not bombproof...
-do I need some type of core material sandwiched inbetween layers of glass?
-what kind of release agent is needed for the mold?

are there any other potentially fatal mistakes I should try to avoid?

any tips would be great
