Description:
Aloha no gang. Calling all golfers and those who would like to be...to participate in a major fundraising event for Hui Nalu Canoe Club, located @ Maunalua Bay in Hawai'i Kai. Our club is the oldest organized paddling club in Hawai'i, started in 1908 by none other than Duke Kahanmoku and his brothers. Today we are one of the largest paddling clubs in the state, but that isn't all we are! We are also a non-profit organization with a large educational outreach program benefiting young people in and around the greater community. With the kokua of organizations like the Polynesian Voyaging Society, D.L.N.R., and N.O.A.A., we are able to introduce many of our keiki to environmental concerns and ocean awareness. Participation in this very worthwhile event will help us in continuing these, and other programs, anchored by our paddling club.
Please help us by spreading the word (and the registration form attached) to all your friends, families, work buddies, any and all contacts so we can make this the most successful tournament yet. We guarantee you'll have a good time, meet some new and interesting people, and who knows...maybe develop an interest, if you haven't already, in the great sport of paddling.
So, on behalf of the club President Bruce Blankenfeld and the entire Hui Nalu 'ohana we say "Mahalo nui loa" for your kokua and support! Hope to see you there. A hui hou, Tourney Chair, Dan Mahoney.
