I've cracked or broken my ama twice surfing waves into the beach. Never hit anything, except maybe myself when I huli! Is that common? (Not the huli part) You would assume that the canoe should be able to handle that. Any thoughts?

My only thought is to lose the 'ama and ride a kayak...he he he.
