Levasseur Paddles

Information and pics of these super light , strong paddles from Michele Levasseur in Quebec will be posted later today.
7 to 8 ounces each. Race proven by North Americas top marathon and outrigger paddlers. Not quite as stiff as most typical carbon paddles, these have a very slight flex to them that doesn`t seem to affect performance in a negative way. Also, the power face is slightly concave, hopefully the pics will clearly show this.
If you like the feel and weight of carbon paddle but also require a little flex , these paddles are worth a look.

I had never seen these paddles before - until 2 weeks ago. One of the stores owned by an avid marathon canoeist brought some in ( western canada) . I am very impressed by them - they are hand done - very light and fragile- they way marathoners like their paddles! I would say they are even lighter than Fisks! ( type of paddle that are coveted by marthoners)

So I picked one up and gave it as a gif to a friend. I don't think they are readily available so if you get your hands on one - your lucky !

Youll have to join the group to see the pics. These paddles , as pulling water pointed out are hand made in small batches, they are very light. To me they dont seem to be fragile , I`ve had no problems with mine in the last 6 months . The paddles have been around for 5 years or so in small numbers. So far mostly marathon paddlers use them to win races like the Ausable Marathon , a 125 mile non stop race in Michigan and the Classique in Quebec, a 3 day stage race on the St. Maurice river. These paddles have an incredible catch , they get lots of traction on the water early in the stroke. You can order any blade size you want. The paddles come without the grip glued on so that you can cut the shaft to make it exactly the length you want.
Eastern Outrigger has them available.
