Kanu The Rock

Bob,
We are planning a July/August 2007 vacation to the Rock. Looking forward to hooking up with you for a paddle or two when we get there. Anyone else besides Bob out there from the east coast of Canada drop in on this discussion or drop me a line at jwwhitbyguy@yahoo.com. Sorry that this message is fairly exclusive. I can't figure out how to pm Bob on this site.
Look forward to hearing from the East coast canadian Outrigger paddlers here.
Aloha,
Jeff

Kanu The Rock
Aloha Jeff,
I must have set my profile without realizing I can't be messaged. Watersledder, who is in Nova Scotia I think also wanted to contact me and I guess we never connected, probably for the same reason. Anyway, sure contact me at kanutherock@yahoo.ca. Watersledder if you're tuning in I'd like to hear from you also, and sorry about my messaging setup if you've tried as well. July August is one of the nicest times of year here but the water is still freezing (except the Southwest Avalon) so drysuits are in order in most places. Are you hauling outriggers with you? If you're driving the East coast, you might also want to drop in and see Eric of Easternoutriggers in Maine. I wanted to stop in and see him this Fall but could not make it.
Cheers,
Bob

Hey Bob & Jeff

Good to hear from both, I will be in touch Bob. I too would love to get to Newfoundland for a paddle/surf trip. Jeff if you make it this way, we've got a OC-2 and a couple of OC-1's already, hope to get an OC-6 by Spring/Summer/Fall, but it may depend on whether or not I win the lottery this weekend. So send some good vibes my way.

Heading to Toronto tomorrow for a week long Christmas visit, don't suppose you guys are still paddling though?

Bob,
Thanks for your reply. We will be in NL for the Geroge St. Festival and some paddling. We have dry top neoprene pants/shorts combinations. Will a shorty dry-top suffice? We are bringing our own boats. I'd love to drop in on Eric in Maine, we really enjoyed talking with him at Kent Island, but we'll see him next season.
Bob if you know of anyone that is in the market for Tiger Canoe OC-1's in NL drop me a line. The reason I am suggesting this is that the shipping

to NL must be terrible. I can get Tiger to build my wife and I other boats if given enough notice. I would want the boats to be in Ontario before we leave for holiday so I have something to paddle when I get back. If you know any newfoundlanders who want OC boats I can let you know what the replacement costs are and I'll bring them from ON to NL gratis, or maybe for a double at trappers and paddling guide advice during our stay on the rock. My wife and I will obviously use the boats in NL and part with them before we leave. I don't mind driving them back home, but this may save someone some cash if you know of any people that want OC-1's.
Our boats were built this september and have been used about a dozen times. We'll use them next season until replacement boats arrive. If you think anyone would be interested message me and we can mull over the details so as not to continue to bore our forum ohana (sic). I'm delighted with both boats and would not part with them except being a newfoundlander myself and an avid OC paddler I can appreciate what you must have gone through to have your boat shipped.
Once you get your messaging capabilities up then I'll keep you updated on our travel plans to NL mid 07.
Aloha,
Jeff
