Hypr Holo Nui or Vantage

Looking for a quick analysis regarding the two boats. For example, what would you recommend for a 6' - 200lb paddler in small to medium bumps?

Thanks in advance-

They are both great canoes but my personal opinion is that the Vantage will surf better in medium to small bumps in Hawaiian waters. I paddle both of them regularly for practice.

Vantage :

HoloNui ( Kaimana hull ) : -

You can check out the video of how the waterline is on the water. Disregard the paddling of course.

As you can plainly see by watching the video - Vantage RULES ALL! Hands down, end of conversation, over and out, etc.

Piece out, GOTO!

b_12,
What size boat wakes are you planning to ride?

But seriously, the Vantage can "see-saw" over medium bumps against the wind even. The NOSE or bow design on both canoes are very different. The Kaimana / Holo Nui nose is a lot more plumb thus a longer waterline than the Vantage ( which has the most rocker of any canoe in the market ). All things being equal the Vantage will surf better, it is also a shorter canoe than even the Hurricane, but big volume from the increase in depth of the hull. THe video was just to show the waterline in flattish water. They are both great designs, I think it depends more on your paddling technique.

All this doesn't matter because as you appraoch light speed, everything changes.

relatively speaking, of course.

Correction: Bananas have the most rocker of anything on the market, not the Vantage. (I like Chiquita) My friend jc9_0 will testify to that - he likes riding Bananas all day long.

Perhaps he could help me with a more pressing question: Which one is better, banana or cucumber? Please remember, I am 4 feet 16 inches tall, weigh 23897 oz, mostly paddle in 12-14 foot wind chop, and my longest chest hair is approximately 14 inches. Thank you.

YEE-HAH!! goto.

Yes bananas do have a lot of rocker, jc9_0 does ride bananas all day long especially when he's off his rocker, and yes its all relative from your point of reference.

23897 oz? Considering the wind factor and wave action due to the dropping tide during full moon then I would definitley go with the cucumber. Yeah cucumber. But remember the light speed factor.

-4 feet 16 inches tall, weigh 23897 oz, mostly paddle in 12-14 foot wind chop, and my longest chest hair is approximately 14 inches????

...Is that a consequence of ingesting "single servings" (1 dozen) of Krispy Cremes? Maybe I should do the same!!!???

Interesting that its the guys all talking about Bananas and Cucumbers. Isn't that more of an interest for the women ? What are you guys trying to say .....

Why would bananas and cucumbers be an interest specifically for women? What does gender have to do with what type of fruits and vegetables someone likes? Please explain.

what's wrong with being a woman...or a cucumber, for that matter?

I like hot goolie sauce on my banana! My cucumber has almost continuous rocker all the way through and really slides in and out of bumps of all sizes equally well.
