Disabled Veterans

A while back I saw some photos of a veteran paddling oc-1 and I was wondering if anyone could put me in contact with this person. I believe it was somewhere on the East Coast (Wyldbill, Frosso). I'd like to try a similar program up here in Washington if anyone could put me in touch with the proper authorities. Aloha, Jim

Hey Jim, I just got back from a race in DC and Bill and Frosso were there. He's probably not back to respond yet. BUT in response to your question, this program is primarily being headed up by the Kent Island Outrigger Canoe Club in Maryland. Google KIOCC and you'll get hits/information..

Yep, I'm back from DC. And yes Kent Island Outrigger helps Disabled Sports USA with that program. Here is the link to DSUSA: http://www.dsusa.org/index.html
East Coast Outrigger page has some info as well: http://www.eastcoastoutrigger.com/

There is also a disabled paddler program in Rochester NY headed up by Jan Whitaker. If you would like some information about disabled paddling then Jan is your gal. Here is a link to their website: http://www.adaptivecanoeing.org/

Lastly, May 12th in Hampton, VA at Buckroe Beach we have an OC-1 fundraiser race for the Wounded Warrior Program. Go to www.mapa1.org for more info.

Hope this helps. Happy Paddling,
Freda
