Organization : Outrigger Rio Clube and Brazilian Outrigger - Va'a
Association

Date : Saturday, December 20th, 2003

Place : Praia Vermelha beach, Urca / Rio de Janeiro

Course : Rio de Janeiro shoreline and beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon,
Sugar Loaf, Cagarras and Cotunduba islands and Guanabara Bay.

Distances : 18 miles / 30 km in open seas for all divisions

Race type : "iron man" : 6 paddlers without changes

Divisions : · Men's : open and masters (40 years +);
· Women's : open and masters (40 years +);
· Mixed : at least 3 women, open and masters (40 years +).

Accommodations : Directly by each team or through "Rio Va'a 2003 packages"
with special plane, hotel, and ground rates through the race travel agent (and
Rio paddler), Marcelo Depardo (easytravel@msm.com.br).

Additional conditions : Mandatory personal insurance, liability waiver and
health certificate.

Race Rules : to be sent upon registration.

Registration dates and "early bird" discounts · :

· 10 % discount on all registrations made before August 15 th, 2003
