i'd love to help, but I don't want my competition to be any better. NAH....

I worry less about nit picking technique and more about team mentality, hard work, preparation, mental toughness, and efficiency. Other than that, we just have the kids paddle, paddle, paddle....
I wouldn't say we have any drill that work extremely well, in fact, I would say we don't really use any set drills.

Islandpaddler,
Where in Iraq are you? I'm in Al Asad, and also going home in Oct... You going home to HI or somewhere else? I am the Logistics Officer for my squadron and just got a request approved for a Concept 2 rower. Looking to buy a paddling adapter for it if it actually arrives. Should help to get in shape for next season...
Aloha

Hey islandpaddler706/hanshead, I think all you guys over there are heros. October will be here before you know it. Just wanted to say thanks. See you on the water. Aloha.

Hey, I second the sentiments to you guys. With tomorrow being Memorial Day and barbecues, parties, etc. I do try to always keep in mind the sacrifice that you guys are making...and what Memorial Day really means. Wish you God's Speed in getting home soon. Let me know if you need any help stateside getting a paddling adapter..I've bought a couple from Vermont Waterways up in Maine... You might also consider the Paddle ONe if space is a limiting factor...

SA5301 and drewp, thanks for the sentiments. I'm definitely looking forward to finishing this deployment... The paddle one would be great, but I don't think I could have sold the Marine Corps on buying one. A little too much of a niche sport... I didn't really even expect them to buy off on the Concept 2 either, and was pretty suprised when the request went through (I'm still waiting on the rest of the gym equipment to get approved...). I spent a lot of time on the Letter of Justification for the Erg (good for the Marine Corps, total body workout, versatile-good for both strength training and cardio, etc, etc, etc) and was pretty stoked when the approval came through. I think a lot of the guys are going to really like it. If it actually shows up out here soon enough, I'm going to try and order the Vermont Waterways adaptor myself. Worst case, I can just row my lazy butt back into shape...
Aloha
