Stroke Rate

In a six man distance race, what should the target stroke rate be? I have seen some crews try to set down in the 50s and other crews try to target 70. In your reply, include club name so that I can guage the response by the success of your club.

Mid 50s- my team likes to go about 72 though.

Hawaii crews slow rate >>>>>Aussie crews faster rating>>>>Tahitians fastest

All methods can win races ,nothing is right or wrong, but it is easer to blend at slower rating

lat
At slower rate.... stoke is usually longer.... means more room for error!!! Fast rate... usually shorter stroke... less room for error.
