OC-6 Cracked Iako

We're OC-6 Ocean paddlers who recently had a mishap (road accident) with our iakos. Both were shattered by an errant telephone pole in transit from out launch point to storage. We managed to dig out two Iakos that came from a set where one was damaged and repaired. It looks to be solid with the minor damage (a single hairline crack) solidly fiberglassed. I put all my weight (over 250#) on the bend and it held and flexed just like it should. I'm thinking that with an additional lashing of cord around it it should be sturdy enough for ocean paddling on non-heavy days until our new replacements can arrive. Realizing one should never take chances with equipment I was wondering if anyone had encountered this issue before and took a similar approach. If so what lashing pattern would you recommend?

Also does anyone know of a reputable iako manufacturer on the west coast with a fast turnaround time?

Brah, should be fine, (at least temporarily) as long as you stop putting your 250 lbs. on top.

Don't forget your PFD's!
...unless you're a really good swimmer, or from Hawaii, no wait, actually Hawaiian... Wait, what's the criteria again?
