I also wanted to clarify something because I have had a couple emails regarding my motives. All of the money from the sale of this paddle will go back to Les. I am not making a dime off of this.
I asked Les a while ago if he would like to try selling a paddle this way. He was at first reluctant. Les is a very honest and humble guy and he is extremely reluctant to raise the price on his paddles although there is a very long wait for the paddles. That is because he makes each and every paddle himself. The guy is a perfectionist. His wife helps him with the varnish but aside from that he makes each paddle by hand. This is how he supports his family.
I told him this may be a way to make a little more money with out feeling like he is gouging anyone.
So, if you'd like to puchase a Makana Alii paddle without the wait this is a way to do that. It will cost you more but it will get you a paddle that will last you a long long time. And all the money goes to Les.
