did anyone lose a pegasus?

If you lost a pegasus anywhere in Hawaii recently or even in the past 6 months. One washed up on Kaua'i. Please call Butch at [number removed] asap -- trying to eliminate a coast guard search.

Crazy, they found the owner. Apparently it floated from Oahu to Kaua'i in 5 days -- ending up at Kipu Kai. Paddler was fine.

Pegasus makes 110 mile journey from Diamond Head to Kipu Kai, Kaua'i in 5 days! On Sunday morning, the property caretaker of Kipu Kai found a pegasus OC1 on the reef. Fire Department and Coast Guard were notified, but as of Monday, noone was reported missing or "overdue". I started making some phone calls after I got a good description of the canoe by the caretaker. Something like (blue, green, yellow, and some pink). Started calling anyone and everyone including Kai because the color scheme didn't sound familiar to anyone on Kaua'i. After calling around for hours and confirming the Maui to Molokai pegasus was found, I decided to paddle down and look at the canoe for myself (Kipu Kai has no public access by land). It's only a 5.5 mile paddle downwind but I will say what a workout coming back in 20+ trades! After seeing the canoe and still striking out on the phone I decided to call Keizo and post "lost canoe". My phone rang 15 minutes later at our first Kaua'i Hoe Wa'a Meeting and I was surprised to find out the owner lost the canoe at Diamond Head on Tuesday! What a journey! What a story! Just imagine if a GPS was on board with enough battery life (think breadcrumb trail). Shortest distance looks like 110 miles to me and we have had pretty heavy trades this week. For those of you lucky enough to know the owner, then you know there is a lot of mana in that canoe! The canoe will be repaired here and then shipped back to Oahu. Mahalo Keizo...your website is such a valuable tool! Mahalo to everyone I called that day for helping us narrow the search. Oh and next time I need to ship my canoe back home, I think I'll just drop it in at Diamond Head. Probably get here faster and with less damage! Mahalo...Butch Keahiolalo

By any chance, would the owner of the canoe also be a member of this forum? I'd love to hear how this one got away.

Hey Keizo,

Anyone find a yellow deck, white hull polaris on Kaua'i about 5 or 6 months ago? :)
