monavie

aloha, fellow paddlers. are any of you out there drinking monavie? i've been drinking it since my co-worker (she's a physical therapist) turned me on to it. its pure acai juice, mixed with 19 other fruits very high in antioxidant power. you take two shots a day (like wheat grass). i hate to sound like one of those crazy people, but my neck pain is GONE. i'm a nurse and i'm really skeptical about things like this. i'm all about proven science. but, i'm hooked on this stuff. i'll be bringing the bottle to the maliko race tomorrow and giving shots to my crew. google acai and monavie. pretty interesting. leslie

And also read why it will cost you $180 a month to buy it from a Mutli-Level Marketing company and the manufacturer doesn't say how much acai/monavie is in the product.

Just another scam. Just eat a variety of quality whole fruit that your body knows how to handle and save your money for that next canoe.

Cheers Rambo

valid point on the multilevel marketing scam, but it can really only be a scam if there is no product behind it. take marykay and avon, for example. those are MLM companies selling quality products and they're not scams. women are still driving around those pink cadillacs they give you if you're an avon lady with a large customer base. and the thing about MLM, they work. its more profitable for manufacturers to sell their product in this arena because they dont have to pay the retailers to stock the product, and they dont have to advertise. the salespeople do it for them. truly network marketing at its best. that's how they can compensate their salespeople. now, to be fair, rambo, you're also right about people eating quality fruits and vegetables and enough of them to get some of monavie's benefits, but most people dont. not anywhere close. for me, there's just not enough time to consume that much food, and i cant eat THAT much produce. gives me a stomach ache. but that's me. also, you're a bit exaggerative on the pricing. one bottle costs $35.75, including shipping to hawaii and one bottle lasts 12 days. monavie doesnt even cost half as much per month as you're citing. be careful, you'll lose your argument if it's not credible..... with aloha, leslie

My BS meter is going off. I'll side with Rambo on this one. As stated in the first post "... its pure acai juice, mixed with 19 other fruits ..." Hmmm?

mauimillen, do you sell the stuff?

yep, i'm the juice lady. i sell it bottle by bottle or however people want it. i sell it to support my habit, actually. despite the stigma network marketing has, its actually really fun. i dont sell people something they dont want. some family and friends from the mainland turned me onto it, and apparently its spreading pretty quick. just wondering if people out here have heard of it. dont worry, everyone, i'm not trying to suck you in to some "scam". i dont even know who you are! oh, and let me clarify my original post about the "pure acai juice, mixed with other fruits" by pure i didnt mean only. i meant the acai juice in there is full strength juice and pulp, not a watered down, diluted version of it. and the reason the actual amount of it is not disclosed is so competitors cannot mimmick the product. there is a drink next to the POM in safeway called bossa nova. an acai drink thats tasty, but it's a different application. that stuff you drink as a thirst quencher. MonaVie is one shot twice a day. but try bossa nova, its good.

If you are going to be selling things on this website I think that you should pay Keizo to advertise and not use a forum to do it. If you were purely extoling the virtues of the stuff that is one thing, but since you are making money off of it that is another. I know somebody else who constantly tries to sell things on this website and ends up not looking too good. I also wonder how long you have been a reader of the forum, before you put your first post up trying to sell something. Or if you are going to sell something, don't start a new thread and be upfront with what you are doing.

What nevslin said. BTW, I did a little Googling on both acai and MonaVie.

Seems acai is "flavor of the month" for the holistic heath crowd. Probably not bad for you, but like rambo, I think a healthy diet of balanced healthy foods will take you further.

The vast majority of websites for MonaVie are "personal enterprises" of people selling the product. The others are people bitching about how it's a scam. It wouldn't have surprised me to find links between MonaVie and Amway/Quixtar. So a little more looking and it seems both Brig Hart and Bruce Anderson (former Amway/Quixtar Diamonds) are heavily involved with the MonaVie.

I went to Safeway today and tried the BossaNova - Acai and Blueberry w/Agave. It was pretty tasty, but made me want to poop. In fact, more than just made me want to - I DID poop.

...and it was very satisfying.

Does MonaVie make you poop?

easy, boys. i'm not trying to sell it to you. if i was, i wouldnt have pointed you to the bossa nova. and speaking of which, acai does keep you nice and regular, so i'm pleased you had a satisfying poop. nothing like a satisfying poop, really. as far as posting on the website, that was my first post. i've been reading for a while now, but since i'm novice-ish, i dont really feel l have much to contribute to any threads. dont worry, i wont mention the "m" word again. had i known i was gonna get scolded, i wouldnt have said anything. but thanks for the warm welcome, anyway. cant wait to come back. leslie

Yeah, a healthy diet beats any quick fix, but people are always looking for the miracle of the month. Like they say, "You can fool almost all the people almost all the time".
