any word on what the conditions were like? just interesting to see the comparison of surf ski, oc1, and sixmans in the results

The winds were light (5-occasional 10mph) and didn’t come up like the forecast had predicted (15-25mph), so we were in for a pretty tough paddling race. The tide was just starting to switch back against us and it was pretty hot — I found myself dipping my hat to cool off every so often. Not very many free rides out there until a little past half way into the race where bumps were still very scarce. On a scale of 1-10 for Hawaii Kai run conditions, I would rate this race a 3. At least that’s what the feeling was behind most of the OC1 racers. But the wind did join us shortly after the race finished! There was good timekeeping, and the after-party really made the race enjoyable!
