Great race, perfect conditions, a light breeze, small bumps all the way.
Currents and tide ?
Start was probably somewhere around 09 - 09.15.
Hawaii Kai, all in the boat steersmen one leg on the ground ? if any, I do not know the official rules. It was as nice as always, someone started shoutting go, go and off everybody went, I am not sure that the official flag had been raised - I would miss it if it was different.
The first 1/2 mile goes straight out of the bay, then turn sharp right, thus a 'Hawaii Kai run'. Conditions for that were maybe 3/10, nothing really exciting, you had to make the small stuff work for you and of course some crews do that better than others.
At Diamond Head some larger sets, you had to be careful about that and I am sure that some people got caught. You know it when you see the leading teams do a sudden 90 degree turn into the wave to avoid trouble.
The entire section across Honolulu down to the airport was pretty nice to paddle, catching bumps whenever possible. Towards Barber's point it was mixed, some good swell, at times the water more confused.
Around Barber's point flat, wind from the front right a littlebit in your face for a while, crews just trying to secure their positions. Nanakuli as hot as usual. Unrigging the boats and catching a ride home.

Wow, that's a fast time. Averaging about 6:45 per mile, I think. Any better mathematicians out there? At that speed, they should be able to hang with just about anyone.

Where are the full results? Some of us are tracking teams that aren't in the top 25 :-)
