Product complaints

Here's some unsolicited advice for anyone having difficulties with a product they've purchased. Ready? Here it comes.....

TALK DIRECTLY TO THE PERSON YOU BOUGHT IT FROM.

Posting it on a public forum in hopes of getting some cheap revenge or whatever has little purpose and only makes you look like a whiner. Or worse, that you have a financial interest in the competition.

Or better yet, do whatever you want.

Or even better, tell everyone else what they want.

Another curt, authoritative mandate handed down from my man e02060! How does he do it? I happen to agree w/ him, but ever since he reprimanded me severely for the infamous Danny Ching comment, I've been dying to know: Who is this masked man who speaks w/ supreme confidence and last word bravado on nearly every paddling related subject? From the information he has given directly, I have determined only that he(she) is not a Californian, but lives and paddles there. The authority with which he speaks leads me to believe that he(she) is a) older and b) must have won the channel on one of those Offshore crews from the 1980s heyday of mainland paddling. So, channel winner, not Californian but lives there, and ultra knowledgable on everything, especially paddling and internet personal conduct. I'm guessing Willie Reichenstein, Serge Corbin, maybe Tim Dougherty, or someone like that. And if he's not one of those great paddlers, he's still utterly believable!! James "Jim" Clapp

Wrong in all aspects, Jim, but I appreciate the time you spent fantasizing/thinking about me. Goto must be jealous.

Peace!

Not even close? C'mon e, yer killin' me!

#5 Sun, 09/30/2007 - 1:07pm

Yep e02060 you sound a little washed up with your old man like comment though . No im not a whiner just telling the truth . Kialoas are good blades just mass produced so qauility has been lowered . Yah I think its good to tell people on this forum whats up with equipment no $ gained or lost . Its an open forum or are you too stupid to figure that out ? This aint a place to be politically correct or to chose sides just give opinion on paddling .

Now he's whiney AND angry.

Molokai's going to be sweet. Hot bread, baby.

hey paddlepimp, your answer to e02060 proves he just hit a bullseye.

#10 Tue, 10/02/2007 - 6:06am

No shit goto....
Funny thing nobody posted the Molokai Hoe as an event

#11 Tue, 10/02/2007 - 1:03pm

You guys sound like a couple of old FAGS ! Dont take it too many times before molos ....LOL

#12 Tue, 10/02/2007 - 3:50pm

I agree with paddlepimp. This is an open forum and sharing information and opinions about paddling is a good thing. Now hang on, that’s crazy talk isn't that what this site is all about anyway? “A place to organize and communicate information about the sport of outrigger paddling”.
Unfortunately I don't agree with him when it comes to Kia Loa paddles, I have nothing but good things to say about their product and service, but but that's my opinion.

#13 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 7:13am

I'm not sure where I criticized an open forum. I'm all for free speech. My recommendation is to resolve your issues with the rep or manufacturer before throwing a public temper-tantrum. If that doesn't work, then by all means, whine away.

Clearly, Paddle Pimple did nothing to resolve his issues (if they actually existed,) and he was only hoping to cause controversey for Kialoa. Sadly for him, Kialoa's quality and customer service reputation make his claim laughable.

#14 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 8:41am

I'll say it: open forums suck! What ever happened to the good old days with guys like Joe McCarthy, Pol Pot and Adolph Hitler? It is a shame that Keizo, the benevolent leader that he is, allows anyone to say anything they want to here. Wouldn't the reading be much more efficient (and fun) if we all agreed on everything?

Also, KIALOA paddles are awesome.

#15 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 9:52am

goto,

Keizo DOES NOT allow anyone to say anything they want. Try and find the thread on Margo Pellegrino's "Miami to Maine" canoe trip to save the world from itself. It got pretty heated and soon was no where to be found. Go ahead, search for it. There are a couple of threads, but the main thread is gone.

B.T.W. Please, don't lump Sen. McCarthy with the likes of two of the world's worst mass murderers. Educate yourself and read “Blacklisted by History: The Untold Story of Senator Joe McCarthy and His Fight Against America's Enemies.”

#16 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 10:45am

Actually, I was the one who got rid of the Margo Pellegrino thread. She was causing too much awareness about the state of our oceans for my taste. In fact, too much awareness about anything (including former, possibly wrongfully demonized senators, and murdering fascists) is bad for you. That's why I am also against (self) education AND reading.

I'm voting for Keizo for emperor of the internet in '08!

#17 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 10:58am

I think we all would be happier if we knew nothing.

#18 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 11:53am

That's why I'm always in such a good mood. 8D

#19 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 12:07pm

Kanoe Man, I didn't delete that. The original poster could have deleted it -- I think... that's kind of a flaw in the website I need to fix since no one should be able to delete other peoples comments. I've only deleted a couple posts that were personal and slanderous.

#20 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 1:29pm

Keizo, I wouldn't blame you for removing posts as you see fit. It is your site and you could most likely have legal action taken aginst you for any slanderous posts by members.

So, we can delete other member's posts? NIce.....That could come in handy. That kdkoors guy makes way to many posts.

#21 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 2:20pm

Kanoe,

I post as I see fit and write what I like, when I like. Anything, I post here, I would say to someone's face. I guess it's a risk. But since I seem to be replying to an anonymous poster, I won't waste anymore "ink" and leave it at that.

Ken

#22 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 4:25pm

Ken, keep posting, brother. Also, for a biography of Senator McCarthy by a writer who's not a right wing nut-job, check out David Oshinsky's "A Conspiracy so Immense: The World of Joe McCarthy".

#23 Wed, 10/03/2007 - 4:54pm

Oh yes, good old Pulitzer Prize winner Professor Dr. David Oshinsky of The College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas. Now, remember, when you see the label “liberal” you can interchange it with “Communist” and not change the meaning. Because that is what a liberal really is and Professor Oshinsky is a liberal.

A man that is against the death penalty and who recalls the radical anti-war movement of the 60’s and 70’s as "The magic of a very special time." He even excuses the lies of a fellow professor, Joseph Ellis, about his having a combat role in Vietnam by stating, ``It is not surprising that so many of us, even the spectators, look back longingly to those years. To stay connected to the 1960s is to bear witness -- sometimes false witness -- to an era of turbulent action and unfulfilled dreams.''

Light the inscents and spark a fatty......

#24 Thu, 10/04/2007 - 8:32am

There's a liberal living in Texas?

#25 Thu, 10/04/2007 - 8:35am

Kanoe, your trolls are getting better. A little research, including a quote... Good work!

Remember boys and girls, don't feed the troll.

I like to start my days off by crashing some one's miss guided perception of reality.

#27 Thu, 10/04/2007 - 8:50am

ahhh, so tempting, but you're right kd, no feeding.

#28 Thu, 10/04/2007 - 9:41am

Wouldn't it make sense to sign posts with your name ?
What is the value of an anonymous post ?

#29 Thu, 10/04/2007 - 10:08am

i agree with eckhart
and at the kanaka ikaika races everybody introduce themselves so every one knows whos talking spank

#30 Thu, 10/04/2007 - 11:32am

i personally would never talk spank, however, that said i do talk smack sometimes. i've chosen to make my name available since i do not paddle these crazy kanaka races...
