After moving from Hurricane to Pegasus myself, I think you hit the nail on the head with your assessment. I also notice that the Pegasus tends to "roll" onto a bump rather than "drop" like the Hurricane. To me the Hurricane has a tendancy to teeter and then suddenly tip forward during the catch. This made for an exhilarating feel, but not so good for control. The smoothness of the Pegasus during the catch is not as exciting, but gives more ability to maneuver and connect bumps as an end result. The Pegasus makes you look forward to bigger swell conditions. In large swells, I have felt that I was at the Hurricane's limit. I have yet to feel that with the Pegasus. But I am still gaining open water experience, so that could be a factor too.

I too went from a hurricane to the Pegasus and had to adapt my style and I'm still learning .

The one thing I like about yours is the lack of black stripe around the seam which became common when it was coming out of the same plant as the hurricane .It looks alot better and cleaner w/o out it and the iako's have changed as well and I'm wondering if this is whats given the new boat owners a easier time w/ fitting the ama and taking it apart which is still a problem w/ last yrs model .Some days its not bad and other days its a nitemare .

Anyone know why exactly they have the black line around the hull ? Mine had some chipped off at the rear when I got it new and it seems its more just paint than anything else and the white base color covers over the seam under the black line ...anyone ? I'm thinking of removing the stripe over the winter

I just got my Peggy .smooth ride big ama. real tight. couldn’t decide fusion Hurricane or Peggy. I had a Hurricane and cracked the seam and got a better deal on the Pegasus this time.

Kai did a really great job in designing the pegasus. I absolutely love my canoe. I had issues with the seams on the hurricane. I also feel that the pegasus was much easier in connecting bumps. I'm stoked on my boat. Mahalo Kai for the design and Lauren for rippin on it!
