No reply. Must be a big secret. heard about e-mails sent to some people telling them and even flights booked for the last week-end in April. No-one going to say anything at this late stage

I heard the rumour too. I don't think they were gonna change it so much as add another date just for one mans. I know a few people from Aus and other places have already booked tickets for the date in May. Last year the ski's got all the publicity. Heard the date was in March
Remember that none of this is confirmed though.

and if I was to come from Canada would I need $ for my own chaser boat?
and could I rent a race single?

The rumour has made it to California from Hawaii that says something. Hopefully.
topaddlefaster, if you know someone who is behind the moves or in the right state then give them a call or send them an email and let us know what you figure out.
Mulus, I think the length is changed back to 32 miles and everyone does it in a single run. Everyone needs an escort boat and unless you have a boat in Hawaii odds are your gonna have to pay for it. If you need a boat your best bet is to contact the race organizer or any friends you may have in Hawaii. Check the website www.molokaiworldchampionsips.com for contacts and more information.

mulus - as far as I know - cost for an OC1 are about $ 300, cost for the escort boat ~ $ 700.
That may vary, you may also find someone to let you use a boat etc.
For the single you could contact OutriggerConnection, Kailua, HI, Hurricane => Foti Broher's Hawaii, Kai Vaa etc. - they all have websites.
