How do I go about getting a sponsored race together for the Olympia area? I was thinking Olympia to Boston Harbor and back, approx. 12-14 miles. Do I need a club backing or just ACA? I thought this would be a great way to bring attention to OC paddling in the South Sound area. Plus its a great course.

I hold a race in April 27 for sprinting of course you are invited and the way I went about it was I got sanctioned by CORA in your case it would be the PNW-ORCA then once they say yes I went to the city and got a permit for the park then the harbour patrol or coast guard. and then after all the insurance papers and permits are passed back and forth and they all said ok I would start fundraising for prizes from sponsors and before the race advertise starting ten days before. and you would need security boats and volunteers to help with the race. If you could delegate a lot it would help.
