I hear there are a few people paddling OC1s up there, but that they have to paint them in a camo pattern so that the rednecks think they are one of them and don’t shoot.
South Carolina does have a fledgling canoe club in the Charleston area. They brought their new OC-6 to the Wye Island Regatta in Maryland last year, and they are eager to get more participants. The leader is Michael Owens, he actually builds OC-1s there, his website is www.owensoceansports.com. Check them out!

Raphael … mahalo,
interesting …. that there are no OC-6 clubs here. There are some good size lakes here, just waiting for a canoe club!!
Do you mean 12 hours south where you are in S. Florida?

Jim,
Drive about 12 hrs south and you’ll find a few.

Jim,
Not totally sure there are no OC6 teams/clubs up there. I’ve just not heard of any. There very well could be.
Yes - 12 hrs south and you can paddle with one of a handful of OC6 clubs here in FL. Check out www.sflora.org
