OC-1 Paddler - NorthShore - OAHU

Aloha, I love to paddle all weekend - but somehow I am always out there by myself.
There has got to be other OC-1 or OC-2 enthusiasts. Where are you????

About 3 weeks ago I participated in Jim's OC-1 clinic in Kailua - but didn't meet any North-Shore paddlers. There's got to be other individuals, that are working during the week, don't have time for the OC-6 training schedule - but want to be out there during the weekend.

I pretty much just got started last year, and my canoe is not brand-new and shiny – actually it is quite old and heavy. Still: I always have such a good time - I come across dolphins in summer, whales in winter ... and most of the time I see a Honu – right before it's time to get back ashore .. and I know things will be all right.

Usually, I launch at Sunset Beach .. and make my way to Waimea .. sometimes Haleiwa. 2 weeks ago I even made it to Mokule‘ia (and back) - but that was an exception. I take it easy out there - be safe - no rush - no record to break. Just want to have a good time and learn along the way.

I was hoping to connect with 2, or 3 people for friday (I'll take the day off). Looks like the weather will be fine over the easter holiday and no major surf in sight.

It would be so much fun to be out there with other paddlers - maybe even plan a picnic somewhere - who knows?

Let's enjoy our beautiful North-Shore: out there at sea. It is simply magical to observe a few whales along the way (happened every weekend so far) ... so amazing.

Lets share the experience!

PS:below a picture collage from last week - as well as my contact info

you must go to Manu o ke Kai Canoe club Haleiwa, you will meet UNCLE RANDY, and there, you will find a lot of oc-1 paddlers to.

sunday 9am should do it, make your sunset run all the way to haleiwa, right by the river mouth( rainbow bridge) you will find the canoe site.

Aloha Mariano
I went there a few weeks ago - just saw a bunch of guys drinking beer - but no paddlers.
Still: how come there is nobody out at sea? - Only met a few canoe teams in the water .. but never OC-1's ... seems strange?!
Have a nice weekend
