Kainalu Easter Challenge
What: Tahitian Va’a Hoe rudderless race (Traditional Tahitian one man canoe without rudder). Tahitian made Va’a Connection Canoes will be provided. No need bring any canoe.
- Knock out format – Approximately 2 mile triangle course for qualifying heats.

When: Sunday – this EASTER Sunday, March 23rd,
- Registration 12:00 – 1:00 PM.
- Races start immediately following registration.
- Finals expected at about 4:30 PM
Where: Waimanalo. The event will be staged from a private residence on Waimanalo Beach in the neighborhood behind 7-11 and McDonalds. Address is 41885 Laumilo St.

Divisions: Open, 40+, 50+. Men and Women’s divisions. There must be at least 3 participants to constitute a division, otherwise you fall into the younger category..

Entry fee: $20.00

Purse: $2,000.00

Objective: To have a fun event, introduce people to Tahitian style canoes and create an exchange between Hawaii and Tahiti. Race organizer, Stephon Lambert runs the Te Aito Nui in December and welcomes international participation. The Te Aito Nui is a 30 mile race around Bora Bora, inside the lagoon with big money prizes.
Canoes for sale: Following the race the canoes will be for sale. Cost is $2600.00 per canoe, all taxes included.
Kialoa will have a paddle to raffle. Patagonia is providing shirts, there is a drink sponsor and a few others. Main sponsor is Kainalu Bora Bora.

Bring your own food and bring your families as the property is awesome. If nothing else, just come to spend an afternoon on Waimanalo Beach like you normally don’t.
