I am surprise that no one has started the topic for the upcoming Molokai Relay this weekend. What is the word? Mens? womens? OC2?

I hear the go and jc team might do well. They've been training super hard ever since they started their training program yesterday. Super hard. Yesterday.

however, another good take on the solo picture, cheers for that.

I'm willing to bet that the team that wins the mens relay is going to be the mens team that comes in first. just guessing though.

Did Manny race a Zephyr? If him and Jr. partner up, look out. I don't know, really. It's hard to figure out who's racing, with the solo just before and Kauai just after. Is there a list of entries somewhere? Kai and Kea? Danny and Mael? I heard Luke and and Mark Frazier are patnering up, that should be a strong team. And one can never discount the Garnett/Allen combo-Go Celtics!

What about Batman and Robin, or Laurel and Hardy? Stanley and Livingstone? Or perhaps the dreaded axis duo of Hitler and Mussolini. Can you paddle a one man with those poofy riding pants on?

mumbojumbo
Just to back up a few posts....in rereading all the "WHO'S GOING TO WIN THE SOLO" banter....very few IF ANY (except Carlton) put Maui in the mix of predicted winners. Maybe that's how he likes it, as he seems very low key. Looks like he did awesome, which goes to show; on any given day how things can shake up.

Is it today or tomorrow ? What's the conditions looking like?
#8 Sat, 05/03/2008 - 9:29am
too right mumbojumbo - everyone tends to overlook Maui. I reckon his mum named him right - he truly is the king of the sea. He's done it all - a third in the Super Aito (and the Tahitians still remember him) plus he's been the anchor in one of the most successful crews of all time (Team NZ/Hawaii) plus he regularly places amongst the top 5 paddlers in Hawaii. But he's a humble fella, so I don't think people forgetting about him bothers him that much - not that he would read this forum anyway!

Danny was racing with Mael. I'm home in front of the computer trying to find the results.
#13 Sun, 05/04/2008 - 4:10pm
I heard it was fast. Lots o' surfing, almost all the way. Sounds like fun! Anyone hear a winning time?
#14 Sun, 05/04/2008 - 5:24pm
I heard it at 4:30, not to sure how rounded that was. and 5:15 for the Hine's.
Keen to see full results, anyone?

Anything new yet, any contacts from the beach yet. I can't get hold of anyone out there.
#16 Sun, 05/04/2008 - 6:49pm
So i just called Keizo and he said that Danny and Mael were going for it with Mike Judd and his partner the whole race with Kai and Arron N. off in the distance, they thought they had dropped Jr. and Alfred but when they got to the beach Jr. was sitting there watching them finish. He thinks they took a northern line and disappeared. I think he said Judd was ahead of Danny and Danny caught up and passed him going into the finish line but they both missed a urn buoy and might get a time penalty, Manny was close so it might effect there placing.

How 'bout that Aaron Napoleon? Amazing how he can barely race all year and just jump in and kill it like that.
#20 Mon, 05/05/2008 - 3:44am
