A Molokaii virgin no more

Aloha and Mahalo to every one i met in Hawaii.
I just returned home after competing in the Epic race and had a ball.
Thanks to the Bartletts for loaning me such a beautiful canoe as the black Scorpius, as well as being the "Brad and Angelina" of the OC world they were very kind , helpful and positive to an ozzie first timer, unfortunately we had no bumps and I was too light to make it go in the flat , but they are the business those canoes.
It was great to witness the joy emanating from a very cramped "Painter" at the awards ceremony , well done mate. good to meet you.
The ony pisser was being declared as a d,n,f in the results when Im pretty sure I did and I found the Epic organisers to be very corporate and uptight.
I now see why Pa'a will flourish and look forward to competing in their race next year.
Thanks for all your restaurant tips in an earlier post, someone suggested Femme Nu which I did check out, I didnt think much of the food but the waitresses were super friendly.
Thanks again girls
Enjoy the ocean and I hope to see you next year.
PS only joking about Brad and Angelina as Lauren is much better looking

Well done Kevy, had to check with Thor about that DNF, you had me worried, he said you were on his Ama going over the line.
You rode a Scorpius? ... you legend, one of the first Aussies to do so.

Talk to you back home.

Oh... and we forgive you for spelling "Molokaii "with two i's, you probably seeing double after 5+ hours ...hahaaa.

Cheers Rambo

Yes i know you did Pete, i have the photos of you on it. I did say ONE of the first not THE first.
Bit of a difference in weight between you at 92kg and Kevy at 65kg, so obviously the canoe suited you more. Have you placed your order with Rowdy yet? hahaa.

Pete, you tell me now I looked funny.
And there was me thinking I was styling, despite the dribble and the pained expression.
Thanks for your help on Molokai (only one I) nice to meet you in person.
When will the oc1 race calendar be out for next season for SE Qld ? I have just counted up and that was my 10th ever OC1 race and I want to do more downwinders which is rare or never down here so will come up and have a go with you blokes when I can.
It could be good for everyone as I could gain experience and I could bring up some coaching manuals on League and Union.
Good luck at Hammo.

Hey kev
I was in no conditionafter the race to tell you how you looked on the scorpius, but there wasn't much of the hull in the water. It was interesting to hear from a vertically challenged bloke on how the canoe went. It is made for the bigger paddler.
And now, thanks to Rambo, that I'm a fat paddler we freaks have to stick together.
