Plenty:
Entry Fee; $154
Canoe shipping (Oahu to Maui); $110
Lodging (1 night; Kaluakoi Villas); $150
Groceries; $100
Escort Boat (including tip); $900
Transportation from Kaunakakai to Kaluakoi (more if taxi); $25
Taxi to airport on Oahu; $55
Post race cocktails/meal; $70

Additional costs if you don’t paddle your boat over the day before:
Ferry from Maui to Kaunakakai (1 person); $42

Competing in your first Molo Solo… priceless.

Thai baths are awesome I hear. But you gotta watch out cause there’s a pretty good chance the super hot thai girl thats bathing you isn’t a girl. Thats from a pretty reliable source.

Painteur, I guess we take living in Hawaii for granted. I think molokai is expensive being from hawaii, good god its totally insane if you’re from the mainland. Maybe we need to pitch in a bit next year, start helping the mainland people out, especially OCP members.

Great to see people totally stoked on paddling.

poopsie on you

You think it’s expensive from the mainland try N.Z or the Pacific, I paid $ 2300 US just to get to Hawaii before all the rest. Lucky to have awesome help and aloha from Nappy and Anona Napoleon and their awesome family. All said worth every penny, see you next year.

Papeete-Honolulu-Papeete : approx 1700 $… just to get to Hawaii. Are you still wondering why so few Tahitians show up ?
