Ranch cuts water/sewer to Kaluakoi

This morning I saw an article that said Molokai Ranch is cutting water and sewer to Kaluakoi and Maunaloa. That's going to leave some 1,200 people without water and sewer. I sure hope this can be resolved before the Channel races, or we're going to be camping kanikapila under the stars. With no water/sewer, we'll be plenty ripe by the start of the race...

Thoughts anyone?

Well it just goes to show when companies not linked to hawaii nor to america do not get what they want from government, maybe we should just take back the land at cost.

Besides the obvious inconvenience to all of us paddlers that are on Moloka'i for a few days every year, think about the 1200 Moloka'i residents that are affected by this.
The Moloka'i Ranch, and whatever vengeful f'ing parent company they belong to, obviously don't give a shit about people - only about $kala$.

F them in their f'ing asses. Those di¢kwads...

It does make one wonder how a private company came to be responsbile for the infrastructure development, maintenance, control and operation of basic utilities. I feel very sorry for the people who will be affected by this action. I wonder who was asleep at the wheel in allowing the Ranch to control the utilities in the first place. I wonder if the people who invested in the Villas and property at Maunaloa knew that the utilities were not being provided by the County? Imagine buying one of the Villas thinking you would have this great condo to retire at, with a golf course and beautiful ocean views. Now you won't be able to even take a crap or a shower, and the golf course is nothing but brown sage brush. Some are going to lose their life's savings. This is a tragedy. Should the blame be 100% on the Ranch, or do our elected officials share responsibility for allowing it to happen in the first place?

dmehling good points. If you look at it from Molokai Ranches point of view, the community is to blame too. The Ranch couldn't do anything. Everytime they wanted to develop or build or take a crap people protested and halted everything. Because the Ranch couldn't develop they were operating at a huge loss. So if you own the Ranch and are operating at a large loss, what would you do? everytime you had an idea to make revenue, it was halted by the public.

Its sucks, maybe no one is to blame, maybe its just life?
