A quick search revealed that Severn Suzuki gave that speech in 1992. One clue to the year was her reference to a world population of 5 billion. The current population is 6.8 billion and climbing.
Our "officials" will continue on "their" greedy paths as long as we are in a silent slumber. No one to blame but ourselves for being the lemmings that we are.
