Two teen agers paddle 2200 miles from Minn/St Paul to the Hudson bay

These kids graduated H.S. early so they could attempt this crazy feat. Every one doubted them, but these two 18 year olds paddled 2200 miles in 49 days, surviving rapids with 5-6 foot walls, freezing temperatures and fighting some of the toughest currents up stream imaginable.

What a great story! I love it when i here about "Kids" doing stuff like this. These kind of kids are the role models. Stay inside and play video games, or get outside and live!

Like you Jim, I say "BRAVO"!

Very cool story and fun to read - I especially like this:

"Witte and Bloomfield said their numerous "that-was-close" moments included at least a couple tumbles into the water. And a canister of bear spray detonated in one of their packs, coating their gear with a nasty irritant that merely spread to their faces and made their eyes swell when they tried to wash it off in the river.

And because they were headed north, the weather stayed wintry just about the entire way.

"It seemed like the whole world was never going to change," Witte said. "It was freezing when we started, and it seemed like we paddled right back into winter. I have never been more miserable."
