If you ship a paddle in a soft case and it gets broken most airlines won't replace it. At least that was my experience a few weeks ago on Jetblue. No sports equipment is covered in their checked luggage policies. So keep that in mind before investing in a paddle cover.

Try calling any of the 2 Island Paddler stores to see if they have any of the full length ones in stock. I saw one or two left at the Kapahulu store last month, but not sure if they were DaKine brand or not. I only have the ones that cover the blade only.

You can checkout "Stitch This Hawaii" as they make some too.

I dunno how many paddles your are looking to carry but I found a wake board bag to work well & be as cheap as $40. They can hold mulitple paddles plus other gear. I have not been charged oversized bag fees as my bag is just under 60 inches.

I found it online at Sierra Trading Post. They don't always have them in stock.. but there are other sites selling wake board bags. I was fortunate to actually see a bag at a Sports Chalet store in So. California and it was cheaper online. I bought a "Hyperlite" brand bag.. sorry I don't know the model.
