Paddling in the Big Apple

Lucky me will soon be leaving home on an 8 week adventure and will be visiting France (have a 21kmn race organised at Biscarosse) Ireland (dont know of any paddlers) then New York city for 5 days from the 9th September and would love to have a paddle with some of the locals if possible, left a message on the nycoc site but no reply, so if there is any one who could loan me an oc1 or a spot in a 6 man for a training paddle that would be great, also any tips re good hotels etc .Then I will be off to the paddling /surfing mecca again Tahiti and will sink a few Hinanos on Huahine with Hiro C and his mates.
Rambo would love to have some copies of the hammo film to hand out if it will be finished before I go.

I've heard he was to paddle an OC6 race, but they couldn't make it trough the shorebreak. Someone had the brilliant idea of tying the canoe with a rope to a boat and pull it trough the waves... broken canoe !
