jc,

that's some fancy french pirate speak you got going on... how do you say arghhh in french? a'urghe?

#4 Wed, 07/30/2008 - 9:31pm

I think that in France they still use the guillotine for pirates.
Avast matey, indeed.

#5 Thu, 07/31/2008 - 5:19am

No in France Pirates are called "Corsaire", and we have an agreement with them : They attack english and spanish boats, and e leave them free to navigate in french seas... Guillotine was mostly used to get rid of kings and queens...

A l'abordage ! Pas de quartier !

ninefeet, je passe l'info... et je parlais de l'affiche. Garde ton Guéthary... je me contenterais de mon ile perdue loin de tout... ;-)

#6 Thu, 07/31/2008 - 2:49pm

The world could do with a few less "Queens" ... bring on the Guillotine i say.

Milesker !!

Great artwork. I'd go just for the t-shirt.

Come to think of it, the Frogs probably regard t-shirts as "declasse."

Look great on a silk Aloha shirt.

Hi Kevlon,
What was it like racing in Europe ?

#13 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 1:35pm

the siren song of the fatherland is calling

#14 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:27pm

it's more the frog chicks I dig.

#15 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:30pm

The racing was great(especially as I actually won a race) the races were well organised with a great atmosphere of joyfull participation as well as a strong competitive element . outrigging is in it's infancy in Europe (must be if I can win a race) but there are a lot of high level kayakers getting involved and the surf companies are putting up sponsorship, there are a few French guys planning on doing the Molo Solo next year , if you are there I will introduce you to them and you will be able to organise your trip around their races, so all in all the racing was great but its the hot naked chicks on the beach that you will remember it will reawaken your Euro chic streak. is it getting cold over there yet?
You wont have time to get wet anyway as you all have to work hard and help bail out the poor Wall St, bankers, It seems the USA is now a Socialist state, who would have thought For we are young and free

#16 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:48pm

I actually thought about becoming a citizen of the United Socialist States of America. That's gonna cost $600 plus. Some kind of socialism?!
For the solo is it Pa'a or Epic ?
Might as well get that little controversy restarted.

#17 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 3:04pm

Well since Epic had me as not finishing the last race I wont be entering anymore of their events, so Im all for supporting Pa'a I would have this year but we were already booked in,
Whats the situation on Molokai re accomodation and "the company" are there still facilities or will we be camping?

#18 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 3:20pm

Alright then Pa"a it is.
As for accommodations etc. ... too early to tell.

#19 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 5:57pm

a little bird told me the schedule for next year's one man season is in the works. it could be delicious.

#20 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 5:59pm

I'm planning my schedule around:

Catalina Relay – March 28, 29
Kaua’i World Challenge – April 9-12
PA’A Ka’iwi Solo – April 19
Maui to Moloka’i – April 25

The above may, or may not be a fact - scientific, or otherwise...

#21 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 6:05pm

I know the german chine-meister-reps make rentals available for the common mortals. Free of course if you can be certified as a qualificated OC Team paddler. As is common there will be the by then obligatory surcharge "a la surprise" (400 Euro=$600) that's french for "surprise", for the cross-continental shipping charges.
And then there is a german kanu builder . They make the Oracle and Helium.
The Oracle was paddled in a Molokai Solo a couple of years back.
Tank or Tuna ?
Beetle or Benz?
Paddelvergnuegen?

#22 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 6:37pm

Jc9-0 the bird wasn't french? ...verdammt!

#23 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 6:41pm

Ninefeet I like your water.

#25 Mon, 10/06/2008 - 8:37am

Painteur, do you mean the crystal blue water on the video ?
Following "official" advices it's not dangerous even if a lot of fishes are diying since 3 weeks...but it's not dangerous OK !
