Anyone have a reliable TV schedule for kayaking? In 2004, they listed times, but failed to adhere to it, instead giving us 8,000 hours of dreamteam bronze-medal sadness and a great big heaping of "who cares?" personal stories.
Also, they have a 10k open-water swim this year...that should be sweet.

I am looking forward to seeing the opening ceremonies and then seeing it over and over and over again-since it is so awesome and I wouldn't want to see any sports
I would bet money they don't show 10K open water swim.
We will see a lot of what is easy and cheap to film. That is why we saw "Curling" -are you kidding me?-over and over again in winter Olympics. Cameras already set up for hockey, ice skating, etc. so we got curling.

I got this from the NBC Olympics Web site. So, if it's not accurate...
Don't know if I'll be up watching this live. Hope it was helpful to some.
Cheers,

2 - 5am for watersports. Thanks NBC! I'm glad they're leaving room for some Chinese-government directed, 'Beauty of China' special features and athlete sob-story coverage during prime time. Thank god for tivo.
Thanks Dan.

Okay, I'm going to hijack this thread for a minute (as if asking for synchronized swimming doesn't count as a hijack.....) You guys are all knowledgeable and enjoy trivia.
Years ago, there was an ad related to the Olympics on North American TV (it might have been Nike, but I'm not sure). It was voiced by Willem Defoe the actor (I think). The ad spoke about respect for your competition, and how you should thank your competition, because they were who made you faster. I've looked and looked for the words to that quote everywhere. It was a great quote. Very powerful.
Anybody have any ideas? Anybody else remember it?
Thanks in advance for not ripping me to shreds.....

kahuna
Can't speak for everyone here, but I know that both poops and myself object to hijackers.
And on a more serious note, don't remember seeing the ad you mentioned.

Jibofo is correct. Hijacking is strictly forbidden on here. Kahuna, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Jibofo's thread about synchronized swimming was not off topic. It pertained to the title of Olympic Schedule.
I know nothing about the ad but william Defoe was bad ass in spiderman.

I totally thought the trampoline comment was a joke, but that's REALLY in the Olympics. Huh. You learn something every day...
