Fuze is it an optical illusion or is the 2nd place guy paddling with a snow shovel? Thats a friggin huge blade!!!!

Lots of huge blades were at Sacramento. I used an 8 7/8 X 51 and it seemed a little too long and too narrow. Next time I think a 50 x 9 1/4 might work a little better for 500 meters.

Colleen Moore won womens Sr. masters with a Levas 8 7/8 X 49.

How were those designs on some of the 1 man canoes in Sac?? Saw a couple of pics and they looked mean. Some polynesian design??

I know it's probably been discussed somewhere - but what's the recommended paddler weight on the Pueo?

4' to 9'

Unreal boats from Kamanu Composites. Nice....

Hey Aqua...that Tahitian blade...that was the regular size. You should have seen the big blades!! Sh$t, they were about 12 inches I think.

Tigers rudderless was sweet! He improved his mold from the Hilo world sprints and the boat is nice...go get one.

I just noticed in the 1st comment I sent that all those pueo's iako's are bent differntly. Anyone notice that too?

#12 Wed, 08/13/2008 - 8:56pm

yup, noticed that, so i was kinda wondering, are all the iakos made differently?

#13 Wed, 08/13/2008 - 11:41pm

The last one (blue deck/white hull) you can really tell as it looks like they're more straighter and longer than the others.

I guess as long as you aren't hitting the iakos on your forward reach or on the exit (if you tend to have a longer rearward pull), then you should be okay no matter what the bends look like.

For right now, all the Pueo 'iako are bent individually... They all have the same angles, and fit the same template, but the pairs look different from each other. Hopefully within the next few weeks they'll all start coming pre-bent, anodized, and look the same.

Goto,

Is the Pueo hull a little smaller than the Kaimana, kind of like the Kainalu was?

Yes. Rocker's a little more flat in the tail, but.
