Stingray 1 VS Hurricane OC-1

Any ideas out there on which OC-1 is better?

More stable?

Faster?

Can't believe that someone hasn't hammered you on this yet. If you've been checking out OCP you should know by now that you're going to have a hard time getting a straight answer to a question like that. Use the search and see what's happened to previous similar threads.
Try em both and see.

it's taken me all day to not respond.... but I guess I will give you the straight answer -

neither one will get you close to a pueo....

that should be worth a couple bucks from the kamanu marketing group... right....

and now for something completely different - the larch....

I was going to bash, but figured i would give my humble opinion. I have owned both. The answer to your question is "it depends"!!!

In flat water, the Hurricane is faster. Up wind, the Hurricane is faster. In rough water, the Stingray is faster. Downwind the stingray is faster. The bigger the bumps, the Stingray is faster. But remember this is for me. Might be different for you.

As far as stability, that is tough. I found the stingray to be "unstable" in a good way, in that it was easy to fly the ama and track well in the bumps.

The Stingray is one of the most comfortable boats I have ever paddled (which is a big plus). The Hurricane is the most uncomfortable boat I have paddled...esp. when it is rough (hard seat, and I always felt like I was going to fall off the boat, whereas in the Stingray I felt enveloped and never felt like I was falling off).

There are a lot of people going really fast on both, so personal preference means a lot.

If you are paddling in flat water mostly , get a Hurricane. Paddle as many boats as you can and get the most comfortable.
Peace,
J
