whos the builder? from your photo the fit and finish looks pretty good. It's a little hard to tell what the bend is... Assume this is the back of the blade?

PS - kewl stikka

is the name indicitive of the design theory? Post more pics from different angles....preferably against a white background.

Broad Reach is the brand made by Scott hendricks, who now is on the Big Island.

Damn it Natalini, I have had "make a pancake" stuck in my head all morning!!

he makes steering/sailing/surfing paddles too. i think he's also making double bends now.

#8 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 1:37pm

The paddle is sick for sure but I was more showing the decal.

The paddle is a double bend and to a beginner like me, it feels like im paddling with a snow shovel! It really gets you cruising though. makes for a tough workout for sure.

The white sticker sure spoils it though.

Be a nice tat for someone.

Is that the front or back of the paddle.

Looks a lot like the Quickblade Kanaha.

Ill probly take the white decal off for sure. Actually Rambo, the guy that drew the decal is a tattoo artist here on the Big Island.

And JC9 - If a 10.75" wide paddle is for women then id love to try the mens size!

#12 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 2:19pm

It is a double bend made here. You guys seem to know the builder better than I as I bought this 2nd hand. I could post more photos if I wont get in trouble.

#13 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 2:21pm

Is it a vinyl decal or hand drawn?

#14 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 2:45pm

It was drawn by hand then printed into a decal. Hes done some others with just a sharpie that look just as good but only in black.

I want one, does he have a web site? I could not find anything in google

#16 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 3:19pm

Since he's on Big Island, do you know if he'll he have a booth to sell decals or anything at the race(s) this weekend?

Shawn Michael,
Now I have that song stuck in my head. Again. But it cracks me up, so that's ok. :)

#17 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 3:47pm

And speaking of this weekend, are there any plans for ocpaddler people to meet up anywhere? Other than the ones who know each other already, that is.

#18 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 3:49pm

mokunui tent

yeah they really should sell some mafia shirts!

#20 Wed, 08/27/2008 - 6:41pm

Check out this paddle, Che drew this free-hand with a permanent marker, unreal talent. He and his wife owns moku nui apparel and pacific ink tatoos. They will be at the Queen Liliuokalani race this weekend.

Very cool. I'll definitely be on the lookout for their tent. Maybe some of us will bump into each other there checking out the decals! We will know one another by our smart-ass comments and tight (but fast!) shirts.

An ocp party would be cool, too.

Scotty Hendricks made a set for Kai ÿOpuaÿs Novice A men for the regatta season and they won the Mens A race at States as well. Good job Scotty and Kai ÿOpuaÿs Novice A men.
