Peabody's Improbable History: Hop into the WABAC Machine

Just felt like a bit of history this morning.

Here's the USS Milwaukee in 1923. Notice the sailing outrigger canoe in the foreground. The iakos are different from anything I know. My guess is the photographer was a bit under the weather.

  2. Since you are Down Under you must hold your monitor upside down.
  3. I will smear some Vegemite on the photo and it ought to get through customs (this may give the photo a slight sepia tone to those viewing from Up Over.)

I change a few settings on the WABAC machine and here's a WWII historical photo of an outrigger used by the ANZACs that you can keep the monitor right side up to view..
