Just felt like a bit of history this morning.
Here’s the USS Milwaukee in 1923. Notice the sailing outrigger canoe in the foreground. The iakos are different from anything I know. My guess is the photographer was a bit under the weather.

I change a few settings on the WABAC machine and here’s a WWII historical photo of an outrigger used by the ANZACs that you can keep the monitor right side up to view..
