For the sake of Outrigger Connection and their Dealers

Fuze,
For the sake of Outrigger Connection, their dealers, and their loyal customers, shut the FU@# up. It is painful to watch you go down like this, but you are taking the rest of us with you. All of your rants are giving us all a bad name and turning a great product into a joke.
You and I have spoken privately in the past and I have told you that you need to be very careful about how you "conduct business" on a free discussion group. There is a fine line between helping the community (and maybe getting some free publicity) and shoving marketing down their throats. You obliterated this line a long time ago. And you crossed over into the dark side when you started airing your dirty laundry on this site. For this I am afraid you can not be defended.
I have been in similar situations as you had with AukaiNYC and you had one of two choices, Contact the buyer and let him know that due to slow sales on the East coast you needed to get the boats from a West coast dealer, and there would be increased transport costs, He could choose if he wanted to get the boat or not, Or Eat the shipping, you quoted a price, now stick to it. Communication with the customer is always easier. We all make mistakes and can't keep everyone happy all the time.
Putting all history aside (anything with chines) Your rant on AukaiNYC has cost you far more than the 400.00 you think he owes you. And unfortunately it has also cost other OC Dealers like myself money as well, Any new paddler looking at this site would be hard pressed to buy any canoe with chines or a Hypr, But Damn that FU*&%$@ Pueo, It must be some boat, Nobody can say two bad words about it. And their Manufacturers and reps do a fine job staying behind that line. If history repeats itself, I know of another dealer that aired their feuds with their customers on this site. Any sign of Ian???
Fuze, If I were you I would be trying me best to figure out how you are going to survive in this Ohana, Right now you have pissed a lot of people off and I think I speak for just about everyone, that you need to chill out, Lock up the keyboard and just wait a while. In time you may receive forgiveness.
I am sorry to have brought this public. But I think it is important that buyers/paddlers know that you are on your own agenda, and do not have the best interests of Outrigger Connection, their dealers or their customers, in mind.

I bought a Fuze from Fuzerider and I kind of like the guy.

Clearly, OC Dealers are a passionate bunch.

Excitable, even.

I wasn't anywhere near my computer, but smelled burning. Whud I miss?

#2 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 10:18am

Jeeze Chris , you`d better cut back a little on the cafein.

How many gallons of coffee did you drink before coming out with that rant.

Sales at Outrigger Connection are going very well , contrary to your remarks.

I might be in Maine but, I`m not operating totally in the dark.

Ill admit theres a couple of posts Id like to retract but I cant do that.

So , I guess what I`d like you to do is forgive me for the posts you find offensive and enjoy the other ones .

For the most part they are good truthfull posts...

And BTW , you shoudnt say those bad things about the PUEO, its a great boat built by good paddlers .

I wish them every success...

#3 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 11:11am

Wow! Where is the love on the East coast?

#4 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 11:07am

Uhhh Fuzey, That's pretty cool how you subtly made oceanohana look like he was bad mouthing the Pueo when in fact he was paying it a compliment. Hmm I think you better add that last post as one you wish you could retract.

Poopie!

#5 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 11:19am

And another thing Chris,

You are going to need to get a second job if you want to live on the east coast. No one out here is attempting to live off of boat sales and other paddling stuff the way you used to in San Diego . This is the east coast and life is different here .

#6 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:03pm

See now I'm really starting to question fuzey's integrity.... Wow poopcorn time!!

#7 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:09pm

My favorite is kettle corn .

#8 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:12pm

You know it used to be Poopoo, Goto and Jim that I thought made this sight stink, Sorry poo pun intended, I have somehow grown to enjoy the sarcasm and self richeousness, It is what it is, would I love to see more control and a more informative sight that does not get over run by those amusing themselves? Of course. Is my post a good example of what should not be allowed, Definitely. Unfortunately (or not) OCP does not have the control. It is a sight that allows it's poster to do and say whatever they want. Good or bad, Truth or not, There is no filtering. My post comes from months of frustration as what was a simple and informative discussion(Chines), turn into a joke, then into an embarrassment. YOU ARE A REPRESENTATIVE OF OUTRIGGER CONNECTION! What you say and do on this sight or elsewhere in the Outrigger Ohana directly effects you (of course) Outrigger Connection, and everyone affiliated with OC. As an individual making my living off of the sport I know I can't always say what I want, I have told you in the past to be careful of this as well.
It is my belief that the Outrigger Connection line has been adversely effected by your actions, And wanted to make sure that readers and new paddlers don't think that your actions are standard business for OC or any of it's other world wide dealers.

#9 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:14pm

Oh Yeah, Thanks Fuze for letting everyone know I am now on the East coast, I was going to post it but didn't want to get a " nice plug, Now send Keizo a check." response.

#10 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:17pm

What a proud day in Outrigger Connection history. Let's all have a silent moment together, shall we?

Ahhh.

#11 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:21pm

Lack of censorship and "control" over what gets said here is what makes OC Paddler worth reading.

Chris , If you are feeling pressure from slow sales , it`s probably because of the time of year on the east coast . It is Fall you know.

And also the economic conditions the entire country is going through right now. Nobodys buying anything , much less $3200. boats that don`t have an engine.

Now, I`m going to take my bag of kettle corn and go buy some gold .

#12 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:26pm

Fuze and OceanOhana sure do have a very unique style of marketing. I am curious as to who called who prior to this thread being started.

#13 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:27pm

Ohana,
If you don't like this site, stay off it. The rest of us enjoy the not so subtle sarcasm and humor. If you have a beef with someone do it on your own private email, don't air it here. Oh, and leave our Keizo alone, he rocks.

#14 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:38pm

Its genus, no news is bad news and loves a good argument better that the posters on OCP. Outrigger Connection strikes again.

No but seriously guys keep up the argument, its filling my day up great.

#15 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:38pm

OCPs been missing a good fued

#16 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 12:49pm

It's a pity we don't have any OC dealer here in Tahiti !

#19 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 1:04pm

my comment about the site stinking was a joke about Poopoo, Not the site, A good example of why sarcasm can do unintentional harm to a post.
I do like the site, as I said I have come to enjoy much of the sarcasm, However as I have said in posts in the past, there are times that they do harm to the site as a whole. This site is the best resource for anyone looking to get into OC paddling, New paddlers may not understand the sarcasm and venture to other sports, The negative comments and calling out his customer are also examples of posts not healthy to the sport, This thread as I already said are also not great but I felt necessary. I would also agree that beefs be kept private, exactly what started me on the post, Fuze should never have called AukaiNYC out about a disputed bill as well as posting his real name.
I knew this post was opening a can of worms, I will be viewed both positively as well as negatively. I hope in the end you will see I am trying to defend OC and a dealer that is doing harm to it's reputation and the sport as a whole.

Original post + below from broken boat thread ...

Here is another link that has the TV news report.
http://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/17599824/detail.html?rss=dgo&psp=news

this string should be entertaining,

Yes it was a hyper, It is not brand new, I paddled it over 1 year ago, Biggest piece of sh&%, i have ever been on, I was only on it for about 2 miles and was in more pain than paddling my Hurricane for 3 hours,

Wow, your a real 'pro' Oceanohana. Now tell it to Ians face or any other manufacturers who you have poo pooed just to sell your flavor of the month stuffs.

This is the typical drivel you hear from a salesmen who makes their living off other peoples sweat and blood. Nobodys back is safe with these types ...

Edit ...

Still waiting to hear from you from the last time you were whining about something.

#21 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 1:16pm

Just so you people know , Brent Beck , the New York lawer and Mid Pac alumni whom I yelled at and called a bad name here on OCPaddler have pretty much worked things out between us.
Yes , I shot myself in the foot with my big mouth but was also fairly quick to apologise to Brent for my part of the disagreement.

Brent and I are going to settle things once and for all like the real men that we are.

We are going to do battle against each other on the water at next years Blackburn Challenge . 20 miles of open ocean paddling . I `m alot older than he is but much more experienced .He works in an office , I work under an open sky.

The race will be interesting to say the least .

Anyone want to wager who will win this faceoff ?

We`

#22 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 1:16pm

Whoa onopaddle good call on that one. Didn't make that connection. Badass.

I got my money on Brent cause he's been coached by the best.

When you said you were going to settle this like men I was looking forward to a 12 noon showdown. Oh well poopcorns good!

#23 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 1:43pm

Can we look forward to antics like in the famous Foo/Kafoa showdown from a couple of years ago with one paddler wailing on the other's canoe with their paddle.

Just when we've all been saying how much we all miss the famous HYPR threads...

#24 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 1:50pm

Onno
So a canoe literally splits in half and places the paddler in a life threatening situation. Oceanohana says that he paddled the canoe before and was a piece of shit, and that makes it badmouthing a competitor and unprofessional? I think the split canoe speaks for itself

#25 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:02pm

Fuze:

A race against each other will not resolve whatever business issues you have with Aukai. Your post is just a distraction, akin to saying that whoever paddles the fastest is absolved from whatever the other party claims. It might feel good, but its not true.

#26 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:07pm

also fuze,

you got off unbelievably light from that public airing of dirty laundry.. i'm thinking the ocp crowd is getting a bit soft, maybe more that you've established a certain presence here but you got a pass big time, only getting some subtle gentle ribbing...

if it was any other dealer doing that kind of shit, they would have been crucified. here lies fuzerider, may he float away to chine heaven.

i guess the ocp crowd has a soft side, who knew?

#27 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:25pm

Hiro, you want one of our OC dealers? We've got a surplus here on the east coast now I guess. We'll have to get back to you on the shipping costs...

#28 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 2:54pm

Lighten up O'Kweefe! Like McFuzington said, you might have to get a real job to make ends meet over there, chiefer Sutherland. Also, what's up w/ haole canoe salesmen from Cali not only appropriating terms like "paddling Ohana" but then trying to act like they decide who's in or out of said Ohana. Sure, McFuze's rhetoric can be irritating to some, but if the Tresnaks tolerate him, and trust me, they're aware of his antics, then who are you to try and censor him? As far as legitimacy in the paddling word, Fuze walks the walk. He's relatively new to outrigger, but the man paddles from the soul, and he's probably put in more miles on the water than most. You don't finish a few minutes behind Jr. in a twenty mile race by talking. Ocean, you're obviously very professional in the conduct of your buisness, but Fuze has his own style. Not evereyone wants to turn this sport into a slick, corporate production, belive it or not. Live and let live-the coolest thing about paddling is the spirit of openness and tolerance. All are welcome. Love, James Clapp

#29 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 3:05pm

Dacho,

Yes on part one ...

To quote youself and what I would say as well for part two.

" The boat speaks for itself."

Aloha,
pog

#30 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 3:09pm

DAMMIT! how do i always miss these things.

i think the reason fuze got left alone by the so called mafia is that he'll just keep playing that god damn chine recording over and over and over.

unfortunately for chris, he needs to make a living and fuze makes his living elsewhere. so no matter how crazy fuzie zoeller gets, it will not impact his bottom line like chri$'$. whether this is good or bad, i'm not sure.

everyone's got to make a living. so i feel bad for chris.

not sure what Mid Pac has to do with anything in this thread.

who sells hypr canoes anymore nowaday? thought they only made those friggen SUP things.

#31 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 3:41pm

one good thing for the Outrigger Connection team riders- they now have multiple places on the east coast, along with all the other locations worldwide, where a canoe will be magically waiting for them at a moment's notice. lucky chined dogs

#32 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 4:09pm

gotta say though, oceanohana lifted this straight out of the godfather...when you move into a new territory, take all the local players OUT. i always knew he had mafia money- no way you can make a real living selling canoes..

#33 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 4:14pm

One more thing about the OC boats: they're awesome boats, but if Karel wants to sell more of them in North America, he needs to make something that's better in small to flat conditions. It's not Fuze's fault they aren't selling that well over here-they just don't perform as well in calm conditions as some of the "all-around" boats, at least that's the perception. Less rocker and less volume, especially for the smaller and or female paddlers.

#34 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 4:50pm

like a gator or something.

#35 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 5:19pm

Too bad he only made like one of 'em ever. What happened to the pirate talk?

#36 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 5:30pm

Two ...... Karel brought a split - in - two Gator to Hamilton Island and left it here. We have it at the Mooloolaba Club Shed, paddled it many times.

Rambo

#37 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 8:21pm

Simply why i say, i do not mean to offend

#38 Fri, 10/03/2008 - 9:58pm

When I broke my brand new OC rudder, Fuze fixed for free. Always respected territory and said check with Chris first before I can sell you anything.

Ditto for Chris with great service etc would have never gotten into the sport (and a few friends included) without that mobile store and all the demos, he got it done.

All the chine crap is funny. I zip up body bags. It is all in perspective.

#39 Sat, 10/04/2008 - 12:34am

dacho, That godfather scene placed in the context of this thread is hilarious.

Well done .

#40 Sat, 10/04/2008 - 1:15am

And where the hell is Brent?, he missed a good thread.....

Good on you Chris for starting this one... :)
