Event Description:

I received this from Tad by email and am forwarding it on... See you on the water!

There is a canoe race on Sunday, November 2, 2008 that has been organized to show aloha and community support from the paddling ohana to the rescuers of the US Coast Guard. The race is in memory of the crew of USCG-6505, and the proceeds of the event will be donated to the Coast Guard Foundation, a non profit organization that helped the victims’ families in a time of need.

Attached is a flyer with the race information, a permit has been acquired from the state DLNR for the ocean event as well as the C&C for a picnic site at Ala Moana park. It would be greatly appreciated if you would pass this information on to the members of your canoe club.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments about the race. Also let me know if you plan to participate so I can get a head count.

Thank you
Respectfully
