Big Island One Manners

I don't know the boat builders name, and I don't know the name of the one man, but it's the builder that took over Steve Blyths old wave blade company.

Anyway, he introduced a new one man last year and I was wondering how that thing works. I heard from one of my big island friends who is trying to dump his one man so that he can buy this new boat.

So, boat name....and comments about the boat. Real interested to hear about it.

Jaws Out.

Mahalo onnopaddler/thrillhouse...yeah, that's the one. Anyone out there have input to make on this boat??

I am real curious because my friend is one of the top one manners in Kona and he is selling his Vantage to get this new boat. Was just wondering.

I have not paddled this boat but but that would not stop me from bragging about it a bit ...

Went down to watch a race out of Pohoiki last year and this hull caught my eye ... Whoa, look at THAT thing... gotta watch for it in the race ...

So as I am following the race I notice how the boat has an unbelieveable glide to it .. Side by side, same bumps, next to Hurricanes, Fuzes, Zephyr, Pegs and even an Epic V10, the Ma'a Afi seems go / run twice as far per stroke .. I know,,, sounds too much but the Ma'a Afis in the race just seemed to be in a different time zone. Even at the end, as I was standing amongst a whole bunch of people, seeing the finish efforts, my mouth got ahead of my brain and just blurted out " Holy Shit, that boat is fast !" Apologies to those who were standing around me.

The boats are made with some very trick material + the guys thought of everything on little outfitting stuffs too.

I am seeing more and more of them everyday ....
