THE USGA WOULD LIKE TO INFORM ALL GOLFERS
There is a possibility of MAJOR rule changes to the game of golf, this may occur sometime after November 4.
This is only a preview as the complete rule book is being rewritten now.
Here are a couple of basic changes.
Golfers with handicaps:
- below 10 will have their green fees increase by 35%
- between 11 and 18 will see no increase in green fees
- above 18 will play for free and even get a check from the club/course played
The $ amount put in for bets will be as follows:
-for handicaps below 10 an additional $10
-between 11 and 18 no additional amount
-above 18 you will receive the total amount in the pot and you do not even have to play.
The term “gimme putt” will be changed to “entitlement”
and will be used as follows:
-handicaps below 10, no entitlements
-handicaps above 11 to 17, entitlements for putter length putts
-handicaps above 18, if on green, no need to ever putt, just pick it up
These entitlements are intended to bring about fairness in scoring so that the final scores of all players will be about the same.
In addition, a Player will be limited to a max of one birdie and/or six pars, any excess must be given to those fellow players who have not yet scored a birdie or par. Only after all players have received a birdie or par from the player making the birdie or par, can that Player begin to count his score again.
The current USGA handicap system will be used for the above purposes but the term "net score" will be available only for scoring those players with handicaps 18 and above.
This is intended to "redistribute" the success of winning by making sure that in every competition the above 18 handicap players will post only "net score" against every other player's gross score.
These new Rules are intended to CHANGE the game of golf. Golf must be about Fairness Only, it should have nothing to do with Ability.

For your information Fuze, the highest bracket, those who make above 350k per year, will have their taxes raised from 35 to 39%, basically what it was under Clinton. We all remember those horrible economic times, right? Furthermore, the earned income tax credit(EITC), which you extreme right-wing pinheads refer to as "wealth redistribution", was inititiated in 1975 under during the Ford administration. The progressive tax scale itself was first proposed by Teddy Roosevelt. So before you contaminate my beloved paddle-talk forum w/ your extreme right-wing propaganda and evangelical website links, do a little research. And look on the bright side, when Obama becomes President, he'll be the first man in the White House who has paddled an Outrigger canoe out to the Mokuluas and bodysurfed Sandy's.

I hope that the first thing that President O' does is send all the Republicans to Guantanamo permanently.

#4 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 6:01am

I will try to make this real simple and logical and hope it will sink in-

OC PADDLER does not equal political forum. Do not post stupid ass political e-mails into forum.

FUZERIDER does equal someone who has again pissed off 98% of on line paddler community

FUZERIDER does equal someone who doesn't have a clear sense of the history and politics of Hawaii and Polynesia and doesn't understand how offensive the word "entitlement" can be. To put it in context in 1899 Western historian Baldwin wrote a book named-Our New Possessions: Cuba, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Philippines. Who "entitled" the west to claim possession all of those cultures and islands?

BTW please don't answer that question. Unless of course you want to piss more people off.

#5 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 6:10am

Maybe under President O' we'll actually get to paddle and surf guantanamo......and the rest of cuba:-)

#6 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 6:13am

and people not being tortured would be kind of nice too.

#7 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 7:09am

Hopefully huge tax refunds to buy new boats :)!!!

#9 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 8:29am

I dunno about you guys but I'm kinda OK with torture.

#10 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 9:18am

Blah, presidential race is boring. If they raced each other on an OC-1 of their own choice, now that will be exciting.

#11 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 9:29am

Fuzerider is an idiot. I'm serious...You are polluting our sport.

#12 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 9:36am

Obama would win a paddling race hands down. Mccain can't even move his shoulders and his arms are like 3 inches long.

#13 Tue, 11/04/2008 - 11:25am

Whats the matter with you people ? don`t you like to talk golf.

Kona J , I don`t irritate the Hawaiians on purpose , really , it just happens by accident every time I speak , its uncanny .

I believe so. I did a google image search and found that little jewel buried among the torture shots. I didnt read the article so I cant speak or comment on its contents but there are pics toward the end.

Finally , a paddler with his or her head on straight .!!

Good to meet you , hukihuki.

As for the rest of you ocean racers , I can hardly wait for the " I told you sos`" to begin after your friend Obamas true colors come out.

Pee Wee Herman is more qualified to be commander and chief.

fuse
President O' is YOUR Commander In Chief, stand up and salute, or are you unpatriotic.

#22 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 3:42am

And the same goes for yankee.

#23 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 3:49am

Tue colors, eh? Fuze, are you one of those people who think that Obama is going to "turn us over to the Muslims"? Can a president really do such a thing? Are crop circles really from big alien spaceships? I heard Rev. Wright is gonna swear him in as Pres.! God Damn Amerikkka...

#24 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 3:53am

I saluted Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. I will salute Barack Obama.Whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

Now Joe Biden made a prediction...so, well, just don't paddle too far off shore for the first six months of the administration..Can't say just who might be showing up.

Yankee,

You had two quotes in you post, but only credited one.

“That which does not kill us makes us stronger” is a quote from Nietzsche. It was written by a man who suffered from a painful and debilitating illness, but refused to give up and instead continued to write even with failing vision.

The mistake I think you make here is to interpret this line to mean that what we can endure and survive will make us stronger. In actuality, Nietzsche is challenging us not only to endure, but to transcend. To him life was not simply about surviving, but about creating meaning for oneself by looking beyond the basic confines of existence.

I think the nation is trying to transcend a lot right now, not only eight abysmal years in the executive branch, but a self image problem at home and abroad and a “terror” campaign based on xenophobia akin to our cold war paranoia.

You and Fuzerider seem to have no love for the cold war years, but then why are you playing into the same fears that drove us to stockpile nuclear weapons under cornfields, have kids duck under school desks to the sound of air raid sirens, and loose the lives of tens of thousands of Americans in two Asian civil wars?

With all of the actual tyranny and abhorrent human rights problems around the world, can’t we find a better use for our time and money?

As for Kipling, he was a crackpot social darwinist. But he did seem to believe in noblesse oblige, and I think that is something this country would do well to consider right now.

#26 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 8:12am

Hey every president elected comes with "told you sos." No one's perfect, fuze and I'm sure Mccain would have more than his fair share of "told you sos" if he were elected.

God know Bush has had waaayyy more than his fair share of "told you sos." Good lord, I think the best thing about this election is that bush isn't president anymore.

Hey lets all have some class here and accept that Obama won fair and square and WHOOPED MCCAINS ASS. OBAMA BITCHES!!!!!!

#27 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 8:42am

I've got to hand it to yankee, he accepts O' as Commander in Chief even if he wasn't his choice. Maybe you're not so bad after all.

#28 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 9:46am

wow, zebignu, you are almost as smart as me...

anyhow, i like your interpretation of nietzche. the same goes for the famous line "god is dead." what he is really saying is that human beings have lost the capacity for uncritical belief, faith.

fuze gets my vote for biggest tool on this forum.

#29 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 9:56am

numerouno, despite fuze high ranks on the tool scale, there have been worse.

Any votes for the biggest tool on OCP?

I vote myself

#30 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 10:09am

WHAT!!!!! I want a recount. Am I reading correctly? Poops you are gentleman and a scholar!!

#31 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 10:24am

Mahatmark, hands down the most irritating with absolutely no redeeming qualities.

#32 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 10:29am

Ahh Jibofo, I take back my vote. Mines on mhatmark now...

#33 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 11:07am

Zbigniew

Aha, so all that Cold War stuff was just about boogeymen and overreaction..

Hard to believe that would come from someone with such a good Middle European name (though the spelling is unusual)

Yup, those Commies were just all hype. I learned that from those two Asian Wars I was involved in directly or in the after tensions. Now my kids think otherwise because they came from a country where - if we hadn't gotten involved in one of them bad Asian Wars -- they or their kids would be starved to death by now.

Now, I didn't start all this on this thread, but I'm not going to back away from jibes. Some folks are already suffering from 9/11 and Soviet Empire amnesia and I'm sure it must be pleasant to suffer from that ailment.

I rather be considering outrigger canoes and how they've been able to sidestep the problems of the rest of the world. Most of it was sheer dumb luck for the outrigger paddlers...which is no one's fault.

I'm sure everyone is thankful for Yankee and everyone else who lays it ALL on the line for Uncle Sam. We may not agree on specifics of policy or interpretation of historical events, but we're thankful for those who serve. I am, anyways.

#35 Wed, 11/05/2008 - 3:30pm

Well said Jim , What happened to you ? Did you change medications to help you see things more clearly.
Anyways , good to see you back firing on all cylinders.

As far as being the biggest tool , I`m far and away bigger than poopoopaddler and it aint right thay any of you would even consider Mahatmark for this distinction . He happened into OC paddler just by chance because of the Kaitlyn photo and some of you people were all over him like a swarm of hornets. He never knew what hit him .

No one throws as much gasoline on the ocp fire as I do ....

a valid form of political protest at times.

#38 Thu, 11/06/2008 - 3:30am

Don't get me wrong, Fuze. Support the troops, yes. Support unnecessary imperialistic corporate war, never.

didn't you all know chines are also fireproof?

Also, can someone please kill this thread already?

#41 Thu, 11/06/2008 - 5:28am

Just an advisory to the int'l paddling community: People like Fuze are only a small percentage of McCain voters, much less Americans in general. We are a better nation and people than guys like him would have you believe. I apologize for our bad behavior in the past, especially the last eight years!

#42 Thu, 11/06/2008 - 5:56am

Respect

#43 Thu, 11/06/2008 - 10:51am

fuze, is that a fish or "da fish" after your name?

#44 Thu, 11/06/2008 - 2:23pm

It`s a fish .

Whats "da fish" ?

I just noticed something in the Obama picture I hadnt seen earlier , the Enterprise looks to be burning an O in the Capital building dome. In the picture Obama is supposed to be a Vulcan but since he acts illogically , most likely he s` actually a Romulan distant cousins to the Vulcans.

#45 Thu, 11/06/2008 - 3:54pm

Mmmm........I'm glad we Earthlings are in for some watershed change in leadership.......We get the distinct impression that "El Baraq O" might keep the conspiracytheorist-lings in check for a while.

Please USA, be gentle & take care of our Universe.......

#46 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 3:52am

"da fish", you know the one on the bumper stickers with "IXOYE" inside the outline.

#47 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 4:44am

Soon we`ll all see what all this vague "change" talk is all about. I just hope he means change for the better.

One things for sure , hes in the hotseat now , with a lot of promises to fullfill.

#48 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 4:49am

I love the smell of Republican hypocracy in the morning!

#49 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 6:00am

wow..I thought the elections were over and for a minute there I thought I had logged on to MSN not OCpaddler.

#50 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 9:33am

Fuze rider,

Are you still a dealer for Outrigger Connection boats on the East Coast?

If so, I am guessing you have lost about 65% percent of your customers.

It is nice for you to state your political opinion on a paddling website-but to go on and on ....

I am just trying to figure out your motivation.

#51 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 9:45am

Fuzrider, I am writing this as Terry the person, and not terry from Ocean paddler TV.

I just looked at the link you posted..I must say I find it all a bit sad that you post a picture of the new president with something shooting at the white house and then have the nerve to post a link that is a "message from God" That picture shows hate, and your link is suppose to show love, which is it that you want us all to see who you are?

This is what is so wrong with the world, people need to practice what the preach..So dis-respectful and honestly really pisses me off. I agree with Kona J, what is your motivation?

now go back, read what you are preaching and LIVE IT!

I am literally shaking with anger right now..OCpaddler is not the place to flood with this kind of stuff.

NUFF said!

Love and peace to all.

Oh and by the way..I am not a liberal!!!!!
AND I sign my real name and never hide behind a screen name in order to stir up trouble.

#52 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 10:09am

I was thinking the same thoughts that Kona J mentioned - whether you're still the rep for Outrigger Connections and if so, knowing how passionate ppl can be about political issues, whether this will in fact hurt his company for those tittering on which canoe to purchase or maybe you do not care? Or may be Outrigger Connections shares your views as well? I don't know, but your postings have fallen off topic from a paddling forum and is unfortunate when politics is the top forum topic in a paddling forum.

The issue is probably best suited for a Political Forum with just as passionate politic talks who share or oppose your views that can banter with you and won't tie you in with Outrigger Connections if that is not your intent.

I suspect you may be amused with instigating light hearted tauntings with ppl you're familiar with, but in time, I am sure if you spend enough time in those political blogs as you do here, you will have a whole new playground of friends and foes to taunt, and may even find it more entertaining than paddling minded peeps on here.

#53 Fri, 11/07/2008 - 10:25am

OK fine , I get the message now , Jeeze , you people are humorless ,

Fuze out.
