Paddling in Samoa started back in the late 80's and has taken a while to find its way into the Samoan sporting arena. But we have been fortunate with hosting the South Pacfic games last year in 2007. local paddlers were given a chance to race amongst various other countries and gauge themselves with some of the worlds best.

With the games come and gone SOCA ( Samoa outrigger Canoe Aoc.) has been working hard to keep the momentum going. They now have 18 V6 IVF approved Mana 6's from fiji and 18 V1 surf riggers to work with. They have an established secured storage area where all the boats are being kept for future races.

We would like to welcome any paddler who is keen to travel, compete and experience Samoa, please feel free to contact us via email. Next year 2009 we hope to launch our own international va'a comp called Va'a Moana. Details of this event will be hopefully finalized before the end of the year.
