With the winds shifting westerly, I'm wondering if anyone ever did a reverse Molokai run?

Beachboys mens crew paddled their canoe from Hawaii kai to Lono a week before the channel race. It was a flat channel , I can't remember if it was westerly or light variables.
it happened in the late 90's.

Two days before the PAA 2008 molo solo the race would have been epic going to Molokai. Rode over on a boat and the ride was quite enjoyable.
