how does this differ from your existing Teva Nui va'a model? Any significant changes in design?

Right on Tiger ....

Hope the molds release right off the plug without problem.

Superbuff the ends and thrown and extra coat of release on man.

Aloha,
pog

This canoe is an entirely new model. Like the old sprint model, the hull comes from va'a builder Philippe Bernardino of Tahiti. Its made for open water conditions. Smaller in volume, as the sprint model used in the IVF sprints is considered large, it has more rocker and no "V" through the center of the hull. It is looser and more manuverable. The cockpit is high to keep water out. The canoe will have a skirt if one chooses.

Here's Tiger's Keiki Va'a to go along with their new Teva Nui.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Here's video of it being paddled on the Big Island.

Also, checkout the other videos by Jacques Blais/j.outpaddlin to pass the time since everything seems slow around here. Includes video from the 2009 Pa'a Solo. :)

Ok Tiger, please show us the bottom of the canoe. Mahalo.
ps: Just wondering, but does it actually cost just as much in time, labor and materials to make a kids canoe as it does to make one for grown ups? Understand the mold cost big bucks to make too?

The boy in the photo looks I little like my son ...

Enough that when I asked him , " Hey, is that you ? "

He had to think about it ... LOL.

Then he said ..."Daddy, when are you going to do mine ? "

Back to work,
