stimulus package

Are you ready to receive a $250 weekly stimulus for the next 5-6 weeks starting as soon as coming monday. Here is how it works. I will be on Oahu to paint the movie sets for a small feature (indie-romantic-comedy). Small means I have to come up with my own housing. I'm willing to stimulate your wallet if you have a room to rent. My workdays start glamorously before dawn and usually end by 6-7pm six days a week. All I need is a room to sleep, a shower to clean up and about 7-12 ice cubes for my evening cocktail. We will be based at the studios by Diamond Head, so anything in that area or windward side all the way to Kaneohe would be perfect.
As a bonus I can regale you with stories about Hollywood film making or other irrelevant matters :)
Thanks for the consideration.

Based on some of the writing I've seen lately about birds, roosters and "Coc$#ks"

If you "stimulate someone's package", you might get your room for free.

Couldn't help it. I am sure many in the paddling "Ohana" will help you.

Don't the Kamanu guys have some kind of paddling hostel on the Pinky's canal? Apologies for sending "crazy Joe" your way, men!

That's the spirit Kona J. Stimulation beyond wallet would be a question of gender ;-).
Jim I fired of an email to the hostel hosts already, but they aren't up yet.

i may be able to help you out painteur. let me talk to my wife and see what she thinks. you'd have to be OK with a 65 pound dog and tight quarters. on the plus side, you'd prolly be able to use a kainalu and do some downwind runs with me since that's all i really enjoy doing.

I'd like to attest to the fact that jc9's got some tight quarters indeed. Especially his hind quarters.

jc9-0 that'd be great. So far I got an offer until the 20th of march which I appreciate very much, but it would be easier to commit for the duration. Dog is cool at 65 pounds. I hope I don't have to stimulate the dog though. Humble use of your Kainalu sounds like ultra-bonus and I'll bring the wife a giclee print of one of my paintings. That may help. Tight quarters? Got that too Mr. Goto.

No heavy-petting on that dog, painteur...

You're just jealous.

Geezzus 65lb, i think Jc might be considering Painteur as an economical means of obtaining pet food and pocketing $250 on the side.

Are there many big bones in the backyard??

well if my wife gives it a thumbs up then you're welcome for the whole time. i'll break the news to her tomorrow when i get home from work.

at 65lbs he's a good size. big enough to scare people, but not big that he destroys the neighborhood. plus 20 of the 65 lbs are in his ears.

Sorry goto, my only wish is to deny Painteur a future as a "Barkers Egg" via a tour of the dogs internal organs. It's unlikely that Hollywood will accept him in that state as a painter on his return to the studio. Though he may get a job as an "extra".

...hahaha

Man ! Is that dog carrying your gear ?

#13 Wed, 02/25/2009 - 7:57pm

just some bottles of water. that way we slow him down and tire him out faster. otherwise he'd be running circles around us.

actually, he still does even with the extra weight.

That dog is a bully, he beats up girls that are smaller than him.

Painteur, when you come can you paint a portrait of jc09 so I can hang it up on my wall. I'm thinking Titanic style...

Painteur,

You better muscle up and get tough or as the Mafia says "Tuff" before hanging out with these guys on Oahu. This little photo (thanks to Kimo) is a reminder of what you will be dealing with and now they have a bad-ass dog. Please video tape you getting "jumped in" It might be a new movie or documentary.

Kona J,
LMAO. Not being the strongest swimmer, I was hesitant when I moved here about wearing all the bling while I paddled in case I hulied and it weighted me down.

Something like this, KonaJ?

Got the call this morning and my job got nixed after all. The low budget for this feature and union politics prevent my glorious arrival. I can also understand the local union members pushing hard to keep their own employed. I'd do the same in that situation even though we are supposed to be union brothers.
I'm sure jc9-0's wife is breathing easier as well. The dog may howl a little while.
Greetings to the mafia! and mahalo for the offers of hospitality from all.
Aloha

Paniteur, so this means no titanic style portrait of jc90 for my wall? I am sad... You really really got my hopes up only to crush them in mere seconds with this last post.

#21 Fri, 02/27/2009 - 10:23am

I'll be back!
