New V1

Hey guys... looking at buying a V1.
Anyone buy or paddle the ones from Maoli Wa'a (Maui Kanu)?
Looking at getting a Temana or Vetea.
Any feedback on them?

Thanks Toa Moana.
I should be on more often to answer questions:
Build in NZ by Teiva a Tahitian married to Maori.
Hand made in their workshop.
Used by both the Male and Female National Champions.

I got to do a demo on the Temana.
Here are my thoughts.
Feels fast. Took me a while to get the hang of it, but way faster than I thought it was going to take. I took it out of Magic Island... mild wind.
Upwind is easy. Down wind a little harder. Didn't really get a feel for side wind.
The boat tracks well. Turning in a circle is difficult in a V1, but I've been on other V1's and this one handled well.
Feels lighter than it is. Hull is very rigid. Not a light boat... hull is like high 20's I think. But seems worth it with rigidness.
I liked the seat. Other V1's have like a bench and this was much more comfortable, although still not a cushion. Was told there are foam seat options. I'd have to try them out before I could say.
Sitting IN was really nice. Like on any V1. Makes the canoe more stable and you can do more with your body since it's so much more stable.
Up wind is measurably faster. Down wind would take some practice.
Ama felt light but surprisingly well balanced. Quiet... mot a lot of water noise.
Feels like a more substantial boat than the Timi Va'a I used in Tahiti... more stiff than the V1 I borrow here.
Snap in iakos are nice.
That's it for now.
