No passo nada!!!! No wind, no surf, no bumps...........
#3 Mon, 03/09/2009 - 11:14am
And, as someone predicted, Kai still won! Imagine if there was surf!

Looks like all 3 stages and the overall totals are up now.
The stage 3 short course was 9.94 miles from what I had on my GPS. Pretty brutal course when there's no surf.

I call foul!
Even though there is a video and results posted officially. From what I have read over the last month on this website, there is no way a Pueo didn't win this race. Remember the Pueo is as fast as hurricane and even faster than hurricane in flat and the ulitmate flat water paddler Danny Ching was paddling it with an awesome fast MudBrook paddle and it was flat water. ;)
Damn I want a Scorpious really bad now and I need to know Kai's work out schedule-because it must be crazy and of course he also has the proper genes.
Also that video is also a bummer because it is showing once again that the extra 15 pounds I have on me isn't helping.
Top Hawaiian paddlers are looking more and more like Tahitians-skinny and lean.

You said it. We all know that (according to posts here) a Pueo will make you 8 places faster. Does that mean that if Kai were paddling one he wouldn't even have to show up?
#8 Thu, 03/12/2009 - 12:38pm
Nope. Even if you're 8 places faster than 1st, you still need to show up to win. But it does mean that Danny would have been in 10th.

Just watched the video. It was great. Big Mahalo to those taking the time to video. Also, Mahalo to Manny and all the support crew for putting on such a great race. Most of us talk about what should be done in our sport but it is those who take action who are actually DOING something. Also we should support all the sponsors who give of their product, money , and time to help our sport grow. I love you all. And that's not just the Steinlager Pure talking. It's the VODKA!

$#!T yeah! Kekoa! I think all of us just talk, talk, talk about what "they" should do. Props to Manny for sacrificing his own personal and training time to put on an event like this. I had Steinlager Pure tonight, but I'd like to believe thats really me talking.
