Has anyone demoed the Osprey and if so...could you please give
us your general impression of the boat and maybe a little bit about
your experience in comparison with other boats?
I'm gonna put down some money on a new boat and the Pueo and
Scorpius are the two i'm looking at right now. The Osprey is interesting
though.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Oiwiwaa,
I tried the Osprey demo about a week ago. It is really narrow, and very fast in the flat. I took it upwind in pretty big seas and it did well uphill. The nose is designed more to slice through the wave rather than climb over, like the Pueo, so it will punch through the water going up, more like a hurricane. It surfs well, again the nose will slice through the wave. I found the footwell design very comfortable, the angle of the legs takes pressure off the heel and ankles. The ama is light and stable. I think it is a very promising canoe. The only thing is Karel will not be making any hand made boats here, they will all be made in China, so if you try the demo which is a light double carbon handmade job, you can add about 3-4 punds on top of that for a china boat.
