the best night sleep i ever had before a channel race was in a tent on the tee box fronting the vacation rentals. thank goodness i put the rainfly on cause at about 3 in the morning the sprinklers turned on. it was free and there weren't guys either snoring or waking up to use the bathroom all night.

Eh you guys, no worry about the sprinklers....golf course closed down and no watering is going on at Kalua Koi. Go set up your tent on the tee's or even the greens.

On the beach, watch out for the sand crabs, and in the bushes (former lawn), watch out for the big rats and centipedes. I still remember the time somebody had one stowaway rat passenger in his surfski while paddling the Channel.
